our Life. The festival’s transplant a minor miracle and as positive a
cue for the sun as we’ve seen for longer than any memory matters.
Sonar, Sea Sessions and newbie No Place Like Dome have bridged the gap
since nicely, and both Knockanstockan and Glasgowbury stand ready and
waiting this July..
alongside the heavy hitting Oxegen, to provide a
platform for all your sun stroke needs (and when’s the last time you
could confidently predict that? Strange times indeed...) Back to the shiny, sophisti-cat, sapling free sheets of sound
solicitation you now hold in your trembling (hey, I’m editor, I can
presume to assume if I like) non-bling hands and you’ll find in store
one Ruari, five Romanovs and a Remedy; something Rarely Seen,
Telepathe, and some Tools, Toys and Techniques. Yes this month’s
magazine (just four from the big 50 and our 5th Bday) holds many nods
to the new, and many names as a clue as to how to get through the shit
still smiling... Steve, in particular (and with alarming reliability)
has found a few, perhaps overlooked, ways to amuse oneself and annoy
the vast majority in one fell swoop. Religious types (ie those blind,
oppressive and violent) look away now! For those with a hankering to
find out What’s Goin’ On stay tuned... Speaking of tuning in, and a
sneaky heads up is due to all the bands (who, judging from the number
of harassing emails, number in the tens of millions) who frequent this
output of optimism. (We’ll be officially unveiling it next month, but
to all those wishing to make use of a free promotional tool get sending
your videos in pronto; for we have seen the future, it’s online and

Nouveaunoise were making waves this time two years ago. After garnering
much attention following support slots for Super Extra Bonus Party and
Messiah J and The Expert, not to mention some phenomenal headline dates
in Galway Dublin and Cork things were looking very bright indeed for
the West coast duo. But then they disappeared. Lost to the ether... or
so we thought.

German space-rock pioneers, Cluster [or Kluster, depending on your
German] have been plying their form of avant gard electronica for
nearly 40 years. Defunct for some time, the duo, (Hans-Joachim
Roedelius and Dieter Moebius) have recently reformed and for the first
time in ten years will be playing together for a sweep of gigs
